LinkedIn Sales Navigator helps a seller find and track prospects on LinkedIn. WarmPath is relationship intelligence for staffing and search firms: it shows who your whole firm knows at a target account, which of those relationships produced real business, and when to ask for an intro.

What Sales Navigator Does Well

Sales Navigator is a strong prospecting tool. According to LinkedIn's help center:

  • Advanced search, lead and account lists, and alerts on events such as a lead changing jobs or an account growing, hiring, raising money, or being acquired.
  • TeamLink and TeamLink Extend on the Advanced and Advanced Plus plans, which show when a colleague is connected to a lead.
  • Relationship Map for mapping buyers at an account, on every plan.
  • CRM Sync on Advanced Plus with Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365, HubSpot, and Oracle Sales.

If your BD team lives in LinkedIn and needs to build target lists, Sales Navigator is hard to beat.

Where Staffing Firms Hit Its Limits

Staffing BD runs on a different asset: placement history. The people most likely to open a new account for you are the ones who already hired through your firm and then moved to a new company.

  • Connections are not track records. TeamLink shows that a teammate is connected to a lead. It does not show whether that connection came from a successful placement last quarter or a conference in 2019.
  • Your ATS is not on the sync list. Bullhorn is not one of the CRMs LinkedIn lists for Sales Navigator CRM Sync, so placement history stays out of the picture.
  • Team features stop at LinkedIn. Advanced plans let teammates share lists and see each other's LinkedIn connections. Staffing firms win when the whole firm's relationships are pooled, including placements and client history that live outside LinkedIn.

What a Past Buyer Is Worth

We measured this in the records of one mid-sized staffing firm that uses WarmPath. The data covers more than 7,000 first meetings at companies the firm had never placed with, from 2016 to mid-2025.

  • When the first meeting was with a past buyer, 22% of those new accounts became customers. When it was with a stranger, 11% did.
  • Accounts opened through a past buyer reached their first placement in a median of 96 days, compared with 168 days for accounts opened cold.
  • Someone the firm had only met before, with no placement together, converted at the same 11% as a stranger.

Source: WarmPath analysis of one staffing firm's ATS records, measured August 2026. 103 first meetings were with past buyers.

A job change alert tells you someone moved. It does not tell you they are one of your 22% people.

When to Use Which

  • Use Sales Navigator to build target lists, research buyers, and reach people you have no path to.
  • Use WarmPath to find the accounts where your firm already has a path, and to work those first.
  • Use both if your BD team prospects on LinkedIn but your best new accounts come from past clients.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is WarmPath a Sales Navigator alternative?

For staffing BD, it is a complement more than a replacement. Sales Navigator finds and tracks prospects. WarmPath shows which of those prospects your firm already has a credible path to.

Does Sales Navigator integrate with Bullhorn?

Bullhorn is not on LinkedIn's list of CRMs supported for Sales Navigator CRM Sync, which covers Salesforce, Microsoft Dynamics 365, HubSpot, and Oracle Sales.

What is the difference between TeamLink and WarmPath?

TeamLink shows that a colleague is connected to a lead on LinkedIn. WarmPath combines your team's connections with your placement history, so you can see which relationships produced business and who at your firm is closest to the person.

Where does WarmPath get LinkedIn data?

From third-party sources and from the LinkedIn connections each person on your team adds. WarmPath combines them into one view of who your firm knows.

Which converts better for staffing BD, a warm intro or a cold InMail?

At one mid-sized staffing firm that uses WarmPath, new accounts opened through a past buyer became customers 22% of the time, versus 11% opened cold.
